To plan, organize and implement an appropriate instructional program in a learning environment that guides and encourages students to develop and fulfill their academic potential.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Carry out the lesson plans and assigned duties to the best of your abilities
- Communicate clear objectives for all learning activities
- Assist students with questions
- Instruct and monitor students in the use of learning materials and equipment
- Use relevant technology to support instruction
- Assign and grade class work, homework, tests, assignments as instructed by the teacher
- Enter grades on computer as instructed by the teacher
- Encourage, monitor, and promote the progress of individual students
- Manage student behavior in the classroom by enforcing rules and procedures
- Maintain discipline in accordance with the rules and disciplinary systems of the school
- Fulfill the regular classroom teacher’s extra duties
- Promote the mission of the Sioux Falls Catholic School system
- Model in word and action the teachings of the Catholic Church
- Maintain the established routines and procedures of the school and classroom to which assigned
- Interact in a professional manner with students, staff, and parents
- Provide a brief report in writing on the day’s activities at the conclusion of the day for the teacher
- Provide supervision to students at all times
- Maintain and respect confidentiality of student and school personnel information
- Leave the classroom in order at the end of the school day
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited Institution
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- Self-motivated with high energy
- High work standards
- Good problem solving and decision making skills
